In the past couple of years, we have covered plenty of awesome touchscreen solutions from Ideum. But folks who are visually-impaired are going to have trouble using touchscreen devices. Ideum’s Open Exhibits Solar System Exhibit has a feature that aims to take on that challenge. It relies on an audio layer that can accessed with a simple touch gesture.

Enhanced Solar System Exhibit with Accessibility Layer

This accessibility layer has a menu browser that can be accessed when a user holds down three fingers for 2 seconds. The user is provided with audio narration of content. With 3D printed Braille signs, you can create your own markers in an easy and affordable fashion. The above video shows how this system works.
